Remote is fine with us!!
We have just finished our second month (of three) at this beach house and couldn’t be more relaxed if we tried! It is as stated a remote location. We drove here, and having a car with us has made all the difference for getting in and out of town for supplies and exploring the area. We also have our dog with us and he has adapted beautifully to beach living even though he is a “northern” dog. Roman is a god send and is available for anything! We feel like we are at home here and very safe. Mostly we have the beach to ourselves and have discovered that 4 walks on the beach daily, equal the “required” 10,000 steps a day!! One thing you never have to wonder about here, is whether the weather is going to be good… it is amazingly beautiful and there are almost always onshore breezes to fan you. Playa Mojon is a gem!!Mark and Gale, January 2015 VRBO guests
We had a lovely time in Playa Mojon. On our road trip through Mexico we needed something like ‘vacation from vacation’. Kathleen’s house was the perfect place. A morning swim at the beach nearby, watching the fishermen doing there routine, an afternoon walk to the next beach or the lagoon. And always going back to the cool refuge of Kathleen’s house. Sometimes for a little sleep in the heat of the midday or some cooking in the big kitchen or just doing nothing but listening to the birds and waves.Bisrat, VRBO guest December 2014
When people usually advertise remote places, I think of the reality, that commercialization reaches everywhere… nope… not in Playa Mojon and that is good that way. The way from the highway to the beach is bumpy but worth every meter. We have been almost alone on the beach for one week, just two or three surfers, that’s all. Incredibly remote and super beautiful. Kathleen’s house is spacy, clean and offers all you need. We liked the idea of solar power… it feels so independent out there. Roman was more than helpfull, always available if needed, offering all you could need and really taking care to make sure n oone gets lost out there. We really appreciated his style and wanna say thanks this way again. The palapa on the beach was the super goodie add on which is not included in the price, but if the owner is not there, one can use it with care… so did we and enjoyed great days. My husband and myself rented Kathleen”s cottage for 5 days for a romantic getaway and had a fantastic time. the cottage had everything we needed and Roman was there to make sure we were in need of nothing everyone we met at Playa Mojon made us feel so welcome and we felt like we have known them forever! the scenery is absolutely amazing if you are looking for a great beach with solitude look no further. The weather stayed in the high 20’s the whole week, if you wanted to go out for a romantic evening La Crucecita is a short 20 minute drive from Playa Mojon. Upon leaving Roman made sure we had transportation back into La Crucecita. Kathleen and Roman made sure that our trip was memorable and I would absolutely vacation there again. Thank you Kathleen and Roman!

This house is everything in the description; tranquil , remote and perfect for intrepid travelers. Everyone in all aspects of the rental experience was responsive and friendly. A perfect place to experience a beautiful almost unspoiled part of Mexico!! Get up early and watch the birds while practicing yoga on the roof.Easter, VRBO guest February 2014
Our stay on Playa Mojon was wonderful, peaceful, magical. The beach is more beautiful than the picture. Kathleen was adamant that we understand how “remote” and being from northern Canada that wasn’t an issue. It is a spartan situation, but even after a week at Dreams, we preferred the quiet of Playa Mojon. We do feel a car is necessary, you can manage without I suppose, but for safety andindependence, we recommend renting a car. In an emergency, it would be a long walk out to the main highway and hope a cab drives by if Roman or a neighbour weren’t around; you are sometimes all alone. Roman is a wonderful resource for information, suggestions of where to go to snorkel, etc if you want to explore. The cottage is lovely, in the evening the temp lowers to 21 C and it’s very comfortable after a hot day. Sitting up on the patio at night watching the stars, listening to the surf, enjoying the quiet and serenity. You can’t see the ocean from the cottage but it is only a half a lane away, and you can always hear the wonderful surf. Kathleen and her partner, Roman both communicate very well with you prior to going, answer questions. We highly recommend Playa Mojon.Shirley, February 2014 AirBnB guest
We came here for the last 3 nights of our honeymoon and were absolutely stoked with the place. it’s the perfect place for a private, stress free getaway. We surf and were happy to see Playa Mojon had empty waves morning and evening, and only 2 mins walk away! We stumbled across the house when checking out Playa Mojon for accomodation, the property manager Roman showed us through it and we knew it was just what we were after. He was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. I recognised it from VRBO, but hadn’t booked it via the site as I thought it might be a bit insecure – no way is this place insecure, it has a big fence and solid locks, if you are worried about security don’t be! I would recommend to anyone (just remember there’s no shops at the beach) and would go back in a heartbeat!Lucy and boyfriend, VRBO guests August 2013
My family spent two nights in this cottage, listening to the waves crash, eating breakfast upstairs on the deck with a view of the ocean, walking to the beach for sunset, surfing a beautiful break, admiring the birds, playing in the sand, boogie-boarding in the child-friendly waves. The cabin was clean and comfortable, the people we met were kind, and the chance for solitude was wonderful. We saw parrots, iguanas, frogs and butterflies. A short drive from the town of Crucecita, this cabin is a hidden paradise. We rented a car, but you could take a cab if needed.Karen and family, AirBnB guests February 2013
Excellent experience-a comfortable home in beautiful surroundings with nature! Exceptional host!
During March, 2012, we stayed for a week at Kathleen´s house in Playa Mojon outside of Huatulco. Our stay was one of the most wonderful and memorable experiences that we have had for a vacation. The house is just perfect. First of all, it is a comfortable home in beautiful surroundings with nature. The beach, just like in the photo, is a long and wide stretch of clean sand where rarely another soul will cross your path. The solar powered home was an incredible experience —everything runs just like in any other home—the large refrigerator, fans and lights as well as anything else you need to run or charge like laptops and cell phones. The solar water heater, now common in Mexico, produces scalding hot water and plenty of it. The home also has a very pleasant roof top patio, which is as large as the whole house, easily accessible by an inside stairway. The local host is Roman. He treated us like honored guests–from greeting us at the airport, stopping by the grocery store on the way to Kathleen´s place and getting us settled in. He stopped by periodically to check in on us and introduced us to the neighbors. We got along so well that we got together for dinner in town during our stay. He is a serious and reliable gentleman who studied and lived in the U.S. and previously worked in the corporate world. Enjoy your stay!
